She was then used in the next seven games, including the Algarve Cup in 1996 , and did not get beyond substitute status. This was followed by an international break of 18 months or nine games, where she was still on the bench in the first two games. It was not until October 18, 1997 that she came on again in the 77th minute of a game against Spain not counted by FIFA, and 12 minutes later she scored the goal to make it 3-0. On March 15, 1998 she was at the Algarve Cup 1998 in the first group game against the Netherlands for the first time in the starting line-up, but was substituted after 65 minutes. After she was not used in the second group game, she came in the third group game against Denmark for her first game over the full distance. In the game for 7th place she was not taken into account again and then four short appearances followed in the next five games, followed by a nine-month international break, in which she was not taken into account in five games. On November 27, 1999, she was back in the starting line-up and played the full distance. She was also in the starting line-up in the next four games, such as the three group games of the Algarve Cup 2000 , but was substituted twice. She couldn't take part in the game for 7th place because she received the yellow-red card in the last group game . After that she was a regular player, but did not get more than 17 games in a row. There was a longer break from May 2007 to March 2008, in which she missed four games. From then on, games over the full distance remained the exception. On June 19, 2010, she made her 100th international match as the second Portuguese . Their 102nd and last international match followed two months later on August 25, 2010.
