Paweł Twardosz (born March 11, 1998 ) is a former Polish Nordic combined athlete .

Career

Twardosz, who, like his sister Anna, competes for PKS Olimpijczyk Gilowice , made his international debut at the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival 2015 in Tschagguns , where he finished 25th in the Gundersen singles and 26th in the sprint and finished ninth with the team . As part of the Youth Cup in Harrachov in January 2016 , he reached the podium for the first time in third place. A few weeks later he made his Continental Cup debut in Planica , but clearly missed the points. At the 2016 Winter Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer , he finished sixth in the sprint. In addition, he was ninth in the mixed team with the ski jumpers Kinga Rajda and Dawid Jarząbek . At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2016 in Râşnov , Twardosz was used in the individual competitions, but only found himself in the midfield. The same thing happened a year later at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2017 in Park City . In February 2017, he won his first three points at the Continental Cup competition in Eisenerz . After he couldn't add any more points, he finished the season in 99th place overall.

On December 2, 2017, Twardosz was appointed to the World Cup team. Together with Adam Cieślar , Szczepan Kupczak and Paweł Słowiok , he took tenth place in the relay, whereas he was not used in the individual. At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in Kandersteg in 2018 , he finished 21st in the Gundersen singles, 22nd in the sprint and twelfth place with the team. After becoming Polish champion for the first time in Zakopane in February 2018 , he made his debut at the end of the season in Klingenthal in an individual competition in the World Cup.

After he was able to collect Continental Cup points again in January 2019 , he started again in the World Cup. Although he still failed to reach the points, he was still nominated for the Polish squad for the Nordic World Ski Championships 2019 in Seefeld . There he finished only in the lower ranks in the individual competitions. Together with Adam Cieślar, Szczepan Kupczak and Paweł Słowiok, he finished eighth in the season. In February he also took part in the Cross-Country Slavic Cup in Zakopane, where he won points directly in sixteenth.

After the 2019/20 season, Twardosz ended his career.
