Kolmakow started in Poliarnie Zori in March 2011 for the first time in the European Cup and finished 13th in the Dual Moguls and ninth place in the Moguls. He made his debut in the World Cup on December 15, 2012 in Ruka , where he finished the dual moguls competition in 29th place. At the 2013 World Championships in Voss , he finished 47th in the Dual Moguls and 37th in the Moguls competition. At the end of March 2013 he won the bronze medal in the Dual Moguls at the Junior World Championships in Chiesa in Valmalenco . In January 2014 he reached his first top ten placement in the World Cup in Deer Valley with 10th place in the Moguls. At the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi , he was tenth in the Moguls.
In the following year Kolmakow succeeded in the world championships at Kreischberg the 24th place in the dual moguls and the 13th place in the moguls. In February 2015, he won the Mughal Gold Medal at the Winter Universiade in Sierra Nevada . In the 2015/16 season he was twice in the top ten in eight World Cup starts and thus achieved 17th place in the Moguls World Cup. At the Junior World Championships in Åre in 2016 , he won the bronze medal in the Dual Moguls. In February 2017 he won the bronze medal in the Moguls and in the Dual Moguls at the Winter Universiade in Almaty . At the 2017 World Championships in the Sierra Nevada, he finished 27th in the Moguls. At the beginning of the 2017/18 season he achieved his first World Cup podium finish in Ruka with third place in the Moguls competition. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , he finished seventh in the Mughal competition. The following year he took 16th place in the Moguls and seventh place in the Dual Moguls at the World Championships in Park City and won the silver medal in the Dual Moguls at the Winter Universiade in Krasnoyarsk .
Kolmakow has so far participated in 61 World Cup races and was eight times in the top ten. (Status: end of season 2019/20)
