Extraction and presentation
Pentafluoroiodoethane can be obtained by electrochemical fluorination of 1,1,2,2-tetrafluoro-1,2-diiodoethane .
The compound can also be obtained by reacting tetrafluoroethene with iodine and iodine pentafluoride .
