The Perec is a 52 km long river or a side canal of the Hron in Slovakia .

The river begins at the weir on the Veľké Kozmálovce reservoir , by diverting part of the water of the Hron into the Perec. Even before the reservoir was built, the water for watermills was taken from there. On the first stretch, the Perec flows roughly to the southeast on the outskirts of Starý Tekov and Hronské Kľačany , before it crosses the Podlužianka on the left in Levice , below the castle . Behind Levice, the river corrects its direction to the south-southeast, flows past the Levice ponds ( Levické rybníky in Slovak ) and Mýtne Ludany and crosses the Sikenica river at Hontianska Vrbica . On the further stretch to the south, the Perec touches the western edge of the places Zbrojníky , Sikenica , Šalov , Malé Ludince , Zalaba and Sikenička , where a weir connects the river with the Hron near Bíňa via a canal. The Perec itself reaches the Hron a few kilometers downstream, before the bridge between Kamenín and Pavlová .
