Mýtne Ludany (until 1927 Slovak "Ludany"; Hungarian Vámosladány - to 1863 Ladány ) is a municipality in the west of Slovakia with 950 inhabitants (December 31, 2019) that the Levice District , part of the Nitriansky kraj heard.
geography
The municipality is located in the eastern part of the Slovak Danube lowlands , more precisely on the western slope of the Ipeľská pahorkatina , in a wide valley on the lower reaches of the Hron . The place itself is bounded by two rivers, namely Perec to the west and Sikenica to the east of the place. To the northwest is the Vápnik mountain (alternatively Šiklóš , 274 m nm ), on the slopes of which there are vineyards. The center of the village lies at an altitude of 152 m nm and is nine kilometers away from Levice .
In addition to the main town, the Dobogov farm (Hungarian Dobogó ) also belongs to the municipality .
Neighboring municipalities are Levice (actual city and districts Kalinčiakovo , Malý Kiar and Čankov ) in the northwest, north and northeast, Santovka in the east, Hontianska Vrbica in the southeast and south and Starý Hrádok in the west.
history
Mýtne Ludany was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1075 in an act of donation from Géza I to the Abbey of Hronský Beňadik as Villa Ludan . Until the middle of the 14th century, the village was in the Hont County , after which it became part of the Bars County. In the 14th century Mýtne Ludany was owned by the Lewenz Castle , which maintained a toll station here and had markets organized. In 1536 the village had a total of 22 portals as well as a shopkeeper and a shoemaker, in 1601 the village had 67 houses. During the Turkish Wars, and especially immediately after an Ottoman offensive in 1663, the area was affected. In 1828 there were 102 houses and 644 inhabitants who were employed as farmers and cattle herders. The last large landowners came from the Esterházy and Schöller families .
Until 1919, the place in Bars County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia. From 1938 to 1945 he was once again part of Hungary due to the First Vienna Arbitration . In 1947 a population exchange took place here; instead of the deported Magyar families, 59 Slovak families from Hungary were settled here.

According to the 2011 census, Mýtne Ludany had 973 residents, including 590 Slovaks , 360 Magyars , 10 Roma , four Czechs and one Pole . One resident indicated a different ethnic group and seven residents gave no information about the ethnic group .
540 inhabitants supported the Roman Catholic Church, 208 inhabitants joined the Reformed Church, 75 inhabitants joined the Evangelical Church AB, 13 inhabitants joined the Brethren Church, three inhabitants joined the Greek Catholic Church and one inhabitant joined the Jehovah's Witnesses; four residents professed a different denomination. 115 residents had no denomination and 14 residents had no denomination.
