Plave Vozokany (until 1927 Slovak "Vozokany"; Hungarian Fakóvezekény ) is a municipality in the west of Slovakia with 766 inhabitants (December 31, 2019) that the Levice District , part of the Nitriansky kraj heard.
geography
The municipality is located in the eastern part of the Slovakian Danube lowlands , more precisely on the eastern edge of the Pohronská pahorkatina hills , in the gentle valley of the Vozokánsky brook . The center of the village is at an altitude of 185 m nm and is 19 kilometers from Želiezovce and 26 kilometers from Levice .
Neighboring municipalities are Bardoňovo in the north, Tekovské Lužany in the northeast and east, Málaš in the southeast, Čaka in the south and Dedinka in the west.
history
The place was first mentioned in writing in 1327 as Wezeken and was first owned by the local landed gentry, then by the Varádi and Kelechényi families . In 1534 the residents paid a tax of six porta . At the beginning of the 17th century, Plavé Vozokany was affected by the Ottoman troops, and in 1657 the village was devastated. In 1746 the property came into the hands of the Hunyady family . In 1828 there were 71 houses and 481 residents who were employed as farmers.
Until 1919, the place in Bars County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia. From 1938 to 1945 he was once again part of Hungary due to the First Vienna Arbitration .

According to the 2011 census, Plavé Vozokany had 900 inhabitants, including 717 Slovaks , 45 Magyars , six Roma , two Czechs and one Bulgarian , one Moravian , one Pole and one Russian . One resident indicated a different ethnic group and 125 residents gave no information about the ethnic group .
356 residents supported the Roman Catholic Church, 312 residents the Evangelical Church AB, 26 residents the Jehovah's Witnesses, five residents the Reformed Church, three residents the Evangelical Methodist Church, two residents the Orthodox Church and one resident the Baptists; one resident professed a different denomination. 60 inhabitants were without a denomination and the denomination of 134 inhabitants was not determined.
