Pečenice (Hungarian Hontbesenyőd - until 1888 Pecsenic ) is a municipality in the Slovak district of Levice , which lies on the western edge of the Schemnitz Mountains ( Štiavnicke vrchy ). It has about 120 inhabitants, who mainly work in agriculture. It is a well-known wine town , almost every family has its own cuvée .

The place was first mentioned in writing in 1135 as Sceleus (which in Hungarian means something like "vineyard"). The Jabloňovka River flows through the village .

There is a legend about a collection of stones that a tunnel leads to the Hungarian border in it.
