The old, originally single place Ďúr was first mentioned in writing in 1205 as Geurund , but in the 13th century it was divided into two places, as the name Geurud Superior from 1278 shows. Rohožnica was first mentioned in writing in 1209 as Gekenus . In 1828 there were 48 houses and 333 inhabitants in Dolný Ďur, 44 houses and 301 inhabitants in Horný Ďur; no information is available for Rohožnica. The main source of income in all three places was and is agriculture.

Until 1918, the places in Persch County belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to Czechoslovakia or now Slovakia. From 1938 to 1945 they were once again part of Hungary due to the First Vienna Arbitration .
