Perham is a city ( City ) in Otter Tail County in Minnesota , United States , with about 3,000 inhabitants.

Perham lies between Detroit Lakes in the northwest and Wadena in the southeast and is named after Josiah Perham , the first president of the Northern Pacific Railway . Not far from Perham flows the Otter Tail River , which here flows through Mud Lake , Little Pine Lake and Big Pine Lake .
Neighboring towns to Perham are Frazee (11 miles north), New York Mills (11.5 miles southeast), Richville (8.5 miles south) and Dent (10 miles west).
