Perth was a constituency for the Scottish Parliament . It was introduced in 1999 as one of nine constituencies in the electoral region of Mid Scotland and Fife , which was redesigned as part of the constituency revision in 2011 and continues to include nine constituencies. Here the constituency of Perth was abolished. It included areas of the Council Area Perth and Kinross with the cities of Auchterader , Crieff and Stirling . The areas of the former constituency have essentially merged into the new constituency of Perthshire South and Kinross-shire . In the 2001 census survey, a total of 79,402 people lived within its borders. A deputy was sent.
