North Tayside was a constituency for the Scottish Parliament . It was introduced in 1999 as one of nine constituencies in the electoral region of Mid Scotland and Fife , which was redesigned as part of the constituency revision in 2011 and continues to include nine constituencies. Here the constituency of North Tayside was abolished. In terms of area, he was the largest constituency in the electoral region and essentially comprised sparsely populated, rural areas of the Council Areas Angus and Perth and Kinross with the cities of Brechin , Forfar and Pitlochry . The areas of the former constituency have largely merged into the new Perthshire North constituency . In the 2001 census survey, a total of 77,530 people lived within its borders. A deputy was sent.
