Mid Fife and Glenrothes is a constituency for the Scottish Parliament . It was newly created in 2011 as part of the constituency revision as one of nine constituencies in the electoral region of Mid Scotland and Fife . The areas were previously largely within the former constituency of Central Fife . The constituency of Mid Fife and Glenrothes comprises parts of the Fife Council Area with the cities of Glenrothes , Kennoway and Leven . The constituency sends a representative.
The constituency covers an area of 195.1 km 2 . In the 2011 census survey, a total of 69,972 people lived within its borders.

Parliamentary election 2011
Tricia Marwick was elected a member of the Scottish National Party . In order to maintain her neutrality in the context of her position as Presiding Officier of Parliament, she resigned from the party after the election.
