Perttu Hyvärinen (born June 5, 1991 in Kuopio ) is a Finnish cross-country skier .

Career

Hyvärinen started in Keuruu in January 2009 for the first time in the Scandinavian Cup and finished 115th in the sprint and 65th place over 15 km classic. He made his World Cup debut in March 2010 in Lahti , where he finished eleventh with the third Finnish season. In February 2011, Hyvärinen achieved two top 10 placements in the Scandinavian Cup with fifth place over 15 km freestyle in Madona and sixth place over 15 km classic in Keuruu; He achieved another in December 2014 with tenth place in the 30 km classic mass start race in Lillehammer . Hyvärinen then started at the Tour de Ski 2015 , but did not finish the sixth stage there. At the Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun in February 2015 , Hyvärinen took part in the 15 km freestyle race, which he finished 25th. In January 2016, Hyvärinen was tenth with the relay at the World Cup in Nové Město and scored his first World Cup points with 24th place over 15 km freestyle . At the skiathlon in Lahti in February 2016, he reached 30th place. In the 2016/17 season he finished 21st place in the World Cup mini tour in Lillehammer and 31st place in the Tour de Ski 2016/17 and finally finished 67th. Place in the overall World Cup. At the season highlight of the 2017 Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti, he came 44th in the 50 km mass start race and 30th in the skiathlon. At the end of March 2017, he finished second over 10 km freestyle at the Finnish championships in Kontiolahti . His best placings at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang were 29th place in the 50 km mass start race and fourth place with the relay and 19th place over 15 km classic and fourth place at the 2019 Nordic World Ski Championships in Seefeld in Tyrol with the relay. In the 2019/20 season he finished 13th in the Ruka Triple and 14th in the 2019/20 Tour de Ski , making it 23rd in the overall World Cup and 17th in the Distance World Cup. At the beginning of February 2020 he became Finnish champion over 15 km classic in Voyri .
