Peter-Martin Schmidt

Peter-Martin Schmidt (born August 1, 1959 in Karlsruhe ) is a Roman Catholic theologian and cathedral chapter in the diocese of Fulda . From 2002 to 2008 he was vicar general of the diocese of Fulda and has been the episcopal representative for those who have left the church since September 1, 2012 .

Life

Schmidt grew up in Marburg -Cappel. After his graduation in 1978 he studied at the Theological Faculty of Fulda , as well as in Toulouse , Bonn and Innsbruck Catholic theology and philosophy and received on 23 June 1984 in Fulda , the ordination .

Then he was chaplain in Bad Orb . In 1988 he became the bishop's chaplain to Archbishop Johannes Dyba and in September 1993 he was a school priest at the Episcopal Collegiate School St. Johann in Amöneburg . There he was also a religion teacher, school chaplain, director of the Johanneshaus and regional advisor for adult education.

On April 14, 1994, Pope John Paul II awarded him the honorary title of Chaplain to His Holiness . Bishop Heinz Josef Algermissen appointed him on September 21, 2002 as Vicar General of the Diocese of Fulda . On January 1, 2003, John Paul II made him an honorary papal prelate . Since July 2004, Schmidt has also been the cathedral chapter in Fulda. From October 26, 2008 to August 1, 2012 he was the cathedral pastor of the Fulda cathedral parish . Since September 1, 2012, he has been the episcopal representative for those who have left the Church.
