Peter Backé

Peter Backé (born May 8, 1816 in Mainz , † October 23, 1886 in Darmstadt ) was a Hessian politician and former member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Peter Backé was the son of the wine merchant Nikolaus Backé and his wife Elisabeth, née Nicolai. Peter Backé, who was a Catholic, married Maria Magdalena , née Bieger , on February 1, 1846 .

Peter Backé embarked on a civil servant career. He was an accessist in the Oberfinanzkammer secretariat , from 1843 an accessist in the calculation of the 2nd section of the Oberfinanzkammer. In 1849 he became registrar at the forest and domain management and from 1850 in the same function at the accounting chamber. In 1851 he rose to the position of secretary at the Chamber of Accounts College and in 1852 he worked in the same position for the Fire Insurance Commission and in 1853 for the government debt repayment fund management. In 1856 he was appointed assessor with vote at the Chamber of Accounts and in 1858 was appointed Chief Accountant. On 1862 he was a member of the Fire Insurance Commission before he retired on September 9, 1879.

From 1866 to 1872 he was a conservative member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates. He was elected in the constituency of Starkenburg 12 / Bensheim .
