Peter Baumgartner (born July 22, 1986 in Vilsbiburg ) is a German ice hockey player who last played at EV Landshut in the DEL2 on the position of defender .
Career
Peter Baumgartner began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth department of the EV Landshut , for which he was active in the German youth league from 2002 to 2004 . In the 2003/04 season he also made his debut in the 2nd Bundesliga ice hockey for the professional team of the Landshut Cannibals . The defender stayed in Landshut in the following season and was also allowed to play in a game for ERC Ingolstadt in the German Ice Hockey League . After a year with Moskitos Essen in the 2nd Bundesliga, the Bavarian-born moved to EC Peiting in the third-class league .
The 2007/08 season spent Baumgartner at the Hannover Indians in the big leagues. For this he was able to achieve 49 scorer points in a total of 59 games, after which he was given the opportunity to return to the 2nd Bundesliga. There he received a contract with the SERC Wild Wings . For the 2009/10 season , the right-handed shooter was signed by the Hannover Scorpions from the DEL. In these he was used regularly, especially in the playoffs, in which he played eleven games for the Scorpions and with his team became German champions for the first time in his career . During the entire season he was on the ice for the Fishtown Penguins in the 2nd Bundesliga in order to gain match practice. For the 2011/12 season he returned to the Hannover Indians in the 2nd Bundesliga. Baumgartner has been playing for the Löwen Frankfurt in the Oberliga West since 2012 . In May 2013 it was announced that Baumgartner will move to SC Riessersee in the DEL2 for the 2013/14 season. For the 2014/15 season Baumgartner moved within the league to his home club EV Landshut.
