Peter Lehnert (born October 30, 1962 in Darmstadt ) is a German politician ( CDU ). He has been a member of the Schleswig-Holstein State Parliament since 1992 .

Life and work

After graduating from high school , Lehnert did his military service as a temporary soldier in the German Armed Forces , where he trained to become a reserve officer . He then completed a bank apprenticeship and then worked as a banker at Dresdner Bank in Hamburg .

Peter Lehnert is married and has three children.

Political career

Lehnert joined the Junge Union as a student in 1979 and also joined the CDU in 1980. From 1983 to 1987 he was a member of the board of the CDU district association Pinneberg .

Local politics

Lehnert was a civil member of the environmental committee in 1981 and a member of the council of the city of Pinneberg from 1982 to 1995 . In the city parliament he was chairman of the committee for youth and sport from 1986 to 1990, from 1986 to 1992 deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group and from 1992 to 1995 chairman of the committee for school and culture. From 1990 to 1992 he was a councilor in Pinneberg. Since 2003 he has been the community representative of the community of Bilsen , where he was chairman of the finance and social committee. Since November 22nd, 2012 he has been mayor and chairman of the municipal council in Bilsen.

State politics

Lehnert has been a member of the state parliament of Schleswig-Holstein since the state elections in 1992 . Here he has been a member of the board of the CDU parliamentary group since 2000. He is chairman of the parliamentary group federal and European affairs and a deputy member of the home and legal committee. From 2000 to 2005 was a member of the parliamentary group's executive committee and from 2007 to 2009 deputy group chairman.

Lehnert entered the state parliament in 1992 via the state list and then always as a directly elected member of the Pinneberg-Nord constituency . In the 2005 state elections , he received 48.2% of the first votes .

On February 16, 2009, Lehnert was nominated as a direct candidate for the planned state election in 2010. At the constituency assembly, the 241 participating CDU members decided to run for direct again with a vote of 100%. In the early state elections in Schleswig-Holstein in 2009 , Lehnert was elected with 42.7% of the first votes. The state election on May 6, 2012 resulted in a 44.3 percent share of the vote. With that he again won the direct mandate in the constituency Pinneberg-Nord.

In the 2017 state elections , Peter Lehnert once again entered the state parliament for the 19th electoral term with 42.6 percent of the first vote as a directly elected member of the Pinneberg-Nord constituency . He is currently the deputy chairman of the parliamentary group, deputy chairman of the European Committee, a member of the first parliamentary committee of inquiry and chairman of the parliamentary group working group for cooperation between the states of Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg. Lehnert also acts as minority and housing policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group.

Others

Lehnert is a member of the German Red Cross, the animal protection association and the White Ring. He is also a member of the board of trustees of the Schleswig-Holstein State Foundation for Victim Protection. From 2010 to 2012 Lehnert was the state government's representative for integration issues.
