Peter Mannino (born March 17, 1984 in Farmington Hills , Michigan ) is a former American ice hockey goalkeeper . He spent most of his active career with frequently changing teams in minor leagues , particularly in the American Hockey League and the ECHL , and only played six games in the National Hockey League .
Career
Peter Mannino began his career as a hockey player with the Pittsburgh Forge, for which he was active from 2001 to 2003 in the North American Hockey League and in 2003 won the Robertson Cup. Then the goalkeeper played for a season for the Tri-City Storm in the United States Hockey League , in which he won the Anderson Cup as the best team of the regular season with the team. In the summer of 2004, the American was accepted into the team of the University of Denver , which he led to the NCAA championship in the 2004/05 season .
On July 3, 2008 Mannino received a contract as a free agent with the New York Islanders , for which he made his debut in the National Hockey League on November 28, 2008 in the game against the Boston Bruins . Overall, he was in the 2008/09 season three times for the Islanders between the posts. The rest of the season he spent with the New York farm teams , the Bridgeport Sound Tigers from the American Hockey League and the Utah Grizzlies from the ECHL . Before the 2009/10 season Mannino was signed by the Atlanta Thrashers from the NHL.
The following years were characterized by constant team and league changes, whereby Mannino could not really establish himself with any team. Most recently he was under contract with the Binghamton Senators for the second half of the 2014/15 season before ending his active career and starting as an assistant coach with the Chicago Steel in the United States Hockey League .
