biography

Petra Robnik took part in FIS races from December 1999 . After her first podium finishes, she also started in the European Cup from February 2003 , but initially did not achieve any placements in the points, i.e. in the top 30. At Junior World Championships , in which she took part in 2003 and 2004 , she only came in the Super-G and in the Descent to the finish while she was eliminated in the technical disciplines. In December 2004 Robnik won the first points in the European Cup and two months later she achieved the best European Cup result of her career as fifth in the Super-G in Sarntal / Reinswald . In the following years she was among the top ten several times.

In the World Cup Robnik first launched in January 2004, then again until a year later. She won her first World Cup points on January 20, 2006 with 23rd place in the Super-G in St. Moritz . The next month she took part in the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin , where she finished 21st in the combined and 25th in the downhill (both as the best Slovenian) and 29th in the Super-G placements in the midfield. In March 2006 , Robnik achieved her first top 20 placement in the World Cup as 17th in the Kvitfjell Super Combined . A little later she became Slovenian champion in downhill and slalom, which she achieved a second time in 2009.

In January 2007 Robnik won two bronze medals in the Super-G and in the slalom at the Universiade in Bardonecchia . At the 2007 World Championships in Åre , she started in all disciplines except giant slalom. She achieved her best individual result in the super combination, in which she finished eleventh. In the team competition, she and her teammates achieved tenth place out of eleven teams. The super combination was still her strongest discipline in the World Cup. On March 2nd, 2007 she reached eighth place in Tarvisio and thus her best World Cup result. So she was able to place in the World Cup in the 2006/07 season in the top 20, which she also succeeded in the next winter , when she was among the fastest 15 in two super combinations. From the 2008/09 season , however, Brodnik was no longer in the points in any World Cup races. She contested her last World Cup race on December 18, 2009, followed by competitions in FIS races and in the European Cup before she ended her active career at the end of the 2009/10 season.
