Petra Starčević (born May 7, 1987 in Rijeka ) is a former Croatian biathlete .

Petra Starčević is a student and lives in Mrkopalj , where she also trained during her active days. She started for Bjelolasica , where she was trained by Robert Petrovic. The Croatian began biathlon in 2001 and has since been a member of the national team of her country. In Ridnaun , Starčević started for the first time as part of the Junior World Championships in 2002 at their first international championship. She finished 53rd in the individual and 57th in the sprint. A year later she started at the Junior World Championships in Kościelisko , where she reached 62nd place in the sprint as well as in the individual. The Junior World Championship was followed by the Junior European Championship in Forni Avoltri , where she was 35th in the sprint and 33rd in the pursuit. The third major event of the year was the Summer Biathlon World Championships 2003 , which were also held in Forni Avoltri and in which Starčević again competed in the competitions of the junior women and reached ranks 27 in the sprint and 24 in the pursuit. Also in 2004 she took part in the Junior World Championships in Haute-Maurienne and finished 55th in the sprint, 50th in the pursuit and individual and finished eleventh in the relay race with Marina Kovačec and Anamarija Brajdić . For the fourth time Starčević started in Kontiolahti at a Junior World Championship, where she was 56th of the individual, qualified for the only time as 58th at an international championship for a pursuit race and was 57th in this. With Brajdić and Krunoslava Kauzlaric, she was also seventh with the season. With 13 relays it was one of the best international results for the Croatian biathlon. In 2006 she took part in a Junior World Championship for the last time in Presque Isle , where she finished seventh in the individual, 35 in the sprint, 31 in the pursuit and with Kovačec and Brajdić nine in the relay race. Seventh place in the individual is also one of the outstanding results of Croatian biathletes.

In Obertilliach Starčević was used for the first time in 2004 in the Biathlon European Cup for women, was 28th in her first individual and thus immediately won first points. The debut in the biathlon world cup followed in the same season . The Croatian competed in her first race in Oberhof and was 78th in a sprint. It was also her best result in the World Cup. The highlight of the season was participation in the Biathlon World Championships 2005 in Hochfilzen , where Starčević finished 90th in the individual and 79th in the sprint. Both in the sprint or in specific she finished 79th ranks also with the 2006 Olympic Winter Games of Turin two of their best international results. She contested her last international races at the 2007 Winter Universiade in Turin. At the competitions in Cesana San Sicario , the Croatian reached place 40 in the individual, 48 in the sprint and was seventh in relay with Kauzlaric and Andrijana Stipaničić .
