Petrineusaß (since 1947 Russian Luschki Лужки ) is a deserted area in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad ( Koenigsberg area ) and was most recently administratively assigned to the village soviet Mosyrski selski Sowet (Russian: Мозырьский сельский Совет, German: Klein Gnie). Until 1945 the place was part of the district of Gerdauen . After 1945 the place was part of Правдинский р-н (Prawdinski Rayon), formerly Friedland .

Geographical location

The Petrineusaß settlement, which no longer exists, is located around 20 kilometers northeast of the former district town of Gerdauen (Schelesnodoroschny).

Petrineusaß was connected to the now Russian trunk road R 508 in the section between Osjorsk ( Darkehmen , 1938–1945 Angerapp ) and Snamensk ( Wehlau ) via a side road. This side road branches off in the center of Werschen (Werschiny) in an easterly direction. Via Kiehlendorf (Tichoje) you reach the district of the former Petrineusaß after approx. 3 kilometers. The side road ends three kilometers north on the connecting road Muldszen (Perevalovo) - Bokellen (Frunzenskoje).

There was no direct train connection. The Klein-Gnie station (now Mosyr ), about seven kilometers away, was used with the Toruń – Tschernjachowsk ( Thorn – Insterburg ) railway .

History

The existence of the place is documented since at least 1625 as Peterey Neuesas . Other place names were Peter Neusaß (around 1677), Petri-Neusaß (around 1727), Peterischken around 1785, Petrischken (before 1820), Petri Neusaaß (after 1820) and Petrieneusass (after 1871). Although the place had been called Petrineusaß since 1820, the place name Petrischken , which had been used until then, was still in use among the local population until the end of the war in 1945. The inhabitants called themselves Petrischker . The name Petrischken was still in use in the surrounding area .

In 1939 there were 139 residents in the village.

As a result of the Second World War , northern East Prussia and with it the village of Petrineusaß became part of the Soviet Union in 1945 , and in 1947 it was renamed "Luschki" (Лужки).

Petrineusaß is a desert today . All buildings were demolished. As in many desert areas, the trees and isolated village paths still give evidence of the former expansion of the settlement. The town's cemetery was a good one kilometer east of the town center. However, this is completely covered with thorn tendrils and is no longer accessible. A few meters northeast of the cemetery was another outer homestead (dismantling) of the place. This also no longer exists today. A windmill also belonged to the place . This was on the northwestern edge of the village and no longer exists today.

At what point in time the village was abandoned cannot be precisely traced. Compared to other abandoned towns in the Kaliningrad Oblast , Petrineusaß seems to be a rather "late" desert. The last place name Luschki was not deleted from the official place register until 1997. Although the place had long been deserted, it was still shown on area maps in the following decade. This leads to the assumption that the village could have been populated until the 1980s. At the beginning of the 1990s the place was demonstrably no longer populated.

church

With its majority Protestant population, Petrineusaß was parish in the parish of Muldszen (1936–1938 Muldschen , 1938–1945 Mulden , since 1947: Perewalowo) until 1945 . It belonged to the church district Gerdauen (since 1946: Schelesnodoroschny) within the church province of East Prussia of the church of the Old Prussian Union .
