Korolenkowo ( Russian Короленково , German Oschkin , 1938-1945 Oschern ) is a place in the far east of Pravdinsk Rajon within the Russian Oblast of Kaliningrad and belongs to the municipal self-government unit of the Pravdinsk district . The place is (today) not at the former place Oschkin / Oschern, but about one kilometer further south in a district that was described as belonging to Abelischken / Ilmenhorst before 1945 , while the former place Oschkin / Oschern is deserted.

Korolenkowo is located 27 kilometers northeast of the former district town of Gerdauen (Russian: Schelesnodoroschny) and 48 kilometers east of the current Rajon capital Pravdinsk (Friedland (Ostpr.)) . The Russian highways A 197 and R 508 run through the village, which use a common route for six kilometers (former German Reichsstraße 139 ).

There is no rail connection. Until 1945, Wolfshöhe (since 1947: Opuschki), two kilometers away, was a train station on the railway line from Insterburg (Tschernjachowsk) to Nordenburg (Krylowo), which was operated by the Insterburger Kleinbahnen .

Until 1945, the former Oschkin or Oschern with the villages of Blendowen (1938–1945 Blendau , Russian: Barejewka), Gendrinn (1938–1945 Gendern , Russian: Wschody), Lonschken (Dnjeprowskoje) and Trotczin (1938–1945 Trotzenau , Russian: Ostrowki) as a district of the Abelischken community (1938–1945 Ilmenhorst , since 1947: Belkino) and was historically closely linked to the mother community. In 1945 the place came with the northern East Prussia to the Soviet Union and was renamed in 1950 after the writer Wladimir Galaktionowitsch Korolenko in Korolenkowo.
