Selenzowo ( Russian Зеленцово , German Grünthal ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad (area around the former Königsberg ) and belongs to the Pravdinskoje gorodskoje posselenije (municipality Prawdinsk ( Friedland in East Prussia )) in the Pravdinsk Rajon ( Friedland district ).

Geographical location

Selenzowo is one kilometer north of Sevskoje (Böttchersdorf) not far from the Russian trunk road A 196 (former German Reichsstrasse 131 ). Until 1945, Böttchersdorf was the next station on the railway line from Königsberg (today Russian: Kaliningrad) to Angerburg (today Polish: Węgorzewo), which is no longer in operation today.

As a result of the Second World War , Grünthal came with the northern part of East Prussia to the Soviet Union and in 1947 received the Russian place name "Selenzowo".
