Krasnopolje ( Russian Краснополье , German Hohenstein, Bartenstein district ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad ( Koenigsberg area (Prussia) ) and is located in Pravdinsk district ( Friedland district (Eastern Prussia) ). Krasnopolje belongs to the Pravdinskoje gorodskoje posselenije (municipality of Pravdinsk (Friedland (Eastern Pr.)) ).

Geographical location

Krasnopolje is three kilometers north of the Russian-Polish border on a side road that connects Sevskoje (Böttchersdorf) on the Russian trunk road A 196 (former German Reichsstraße 131 ) with Bytschkowo (Kaydann) not far from the Alley (Russian: Lawa). Until 1945, Böttchersdorf (Sewskoje), two kilometers away, was a train station on the route from Königsberg (Russian: Kaliningrad) to Angerburg (now Polish: Węgorzewo), which is no longer in operation today.

history

In 1874, Gutsdorf, formerly known as Hohenstein , was one of four manor districts that, together with two rural communities, formed the newly established district of Böttchersdorf (Russian: Sewskoje). It belonged to 1927 the county Friedland , then to district Bartenstein (Ostpr.) In the administrative district of Konigsberg the Prussian province of East Prussia .

In 1910 Hohenstein had 130 inhabitants. That number fell by 1933 and was still 105 in 1939.

Because it was located in northern East Prussia, Hohenstein came to the Soviet Union in 1945 and was renamed "Krasnopolje" in 1947. Until 2009 the place was incorporated into the Sevski Soviet (Dorfsovjet Sevskoje (Böttchersdorf) ) within the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad since 1991/92 and then came - due to a structural and administrative reform - as a "settlement" (Russian: possjolok) classified village to Pravdinskoje gorodskoje posselenije (municipality Pravdinsk (Friedland (Ostpr.)) ) in Pravdinsk district .

church

Krasnopolje belongs to the Russian Orthodox Diocese of Kaliningrad and Baltijsk ( Königsberg and Pillau ).

With its predominantly Protestant population at that time , Hohenstein was parish into the parish of Böttchersdorf (today Russian: Sevskoje) until 1945 . It belonged to the church district Bartenstein (now Polish: Bartoszyce) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union .

Today Krasnopolje is located in the catchment area of the newly founded community in Prawdinsk (Friedland (Ostpr.)) , Which is a subsidiary of the Church of the Resurrection in Kaliningrad (Königsberg) . It is assigned to the newly formed Kaliningrad Provostry in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia .
