Pospelowo ( Russian Поспелово , German  Progen ) is an extinct village in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad (Königsberg (Prussia)) within the Pravdinsk Rajon (Friedland) .

Geographical location

Pospelowo was located southwest of Druzhba (Allenburg) on the right bank of the Alley (today in Russian: Lawa). It was 16 kilometers to the former district town of Znamensk (Wehlau) . Today's Russian trunk road R 514 and former German Reichsstrasse 142 ran through the town, there was no rail link.

history

The Gutsdorf, called Progen until 1946 , was founded around 1400.

In 1874 it came to the newly established District Neumühl (now Russian: Kostromino), which existed until 1945 and the county Wehlau in the administrative district of Konigsberg the Prussian province of East Prussia belonged. In 1910 Progen had 92 inhabitants.

On September 30, 1928, Progen gave up his independence and was incorporated into the municipality of Allenburg (today Russian: Druschba) with the Damerau residential area .

As a result of the war, Progen came to the Soviet Union with northern East Prussia in 1945 and was given the Russian name "Pospelowo" in 1950. In the first post-war years Pospelowo was still settled, but was then abandoned.

The predominantly Protestant population of Progen was parish in the parish of the church of Allenburg (Druschba) until 1945 . It belonged to the church district Kirchenkreis Wehlau (Snamensk) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . The last German clergy before 1945 were pastors Alfred Blaesner and Michael Klumbies .
