Gontscharowo ( Russian Гончарово , German Groß Saalau, Friedland / Bartenstein district ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad ( Königsberg area (Prussia) ) and belongs to the Domnowskoje selskoje posselenije (rural community Domnowo (Domnau) ) in the Pravdinsk district ( Friedland district ) .) ).

Geographical location

Goncharovo is located one kilometer northeast of Domnowo (Domnau) on a side road that connects Domnowo with Lesnoje and Privolnoje (Saussienen) . The next train station was until 1945 Domnau (Domnowo) on the line from Königsberg (today Russian: Kaliningrad) to Angerburg (today Polish: Węgorzewo), which has no longer been in operation.

The Gutsdorf United Saalau was an eponymous location for the newly established on June 11, 1874 District United Saalau that for 1927 in the district Bartenstein (Ostpr.) Renamed county Friedland in the administrative district of Konigsberg the Prussian province of East Prussia belonged. The three manor villages arches (Russian: Minino), Groß Saalau (Gontscharowo) and Saussienen (Priwolnoje) were integrated into the administrative district. In 1910, 267 inhabitants belonged to the manor district of Groß Saalau with its districts Blekitten, Koskeim, Garbnicken (Solowjowo) and Klein Saalau (Sarja).

On November 1, 1928, the independence of Groß Saalau ended when it was incorporated into the municipality of Domnau (Domnowo), and the district of Groß Saalau was dissolved.

As a result of the Second World War , northern East Prussia and with it Groß Saalau became part of the Soviet Union in 1945 . The village was renamed "Goncharovo" in 1950 and was incorporated into the Poretschinski soviet (Dorfsovjet Poretschje (Allenau) ) until 2009 . Since then, Goncharovo has been classified as a “settlement” (Russian: possjolok) due to structural and administrative reforms within the Domnowskoje selskoje posselenije (rural community Domnowo (Domnau )) in Pravdinsk district .

Due to its predominantly Protestant population, Groß Saalau was parish into the parish of Domnau (Russian: Domnowo) until 1945 . It belonged to the Friedland church district (today in Russian: Prawdinsk), later to the Bartenstein church district (today in Polish: Bartoszyce) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union .

Goncharovo's ecclesiastical ties to Domnowo have remained to this day. The Evangelical Lutheran parish of Domnowo is now a subsidiary of the Church of the Resurrection in Kaliningrad (Königsberg) , which belongs to the Kaliningrad provost in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia .
