Roschtschino ( Russian Рощино ), German Georgenau , Friedland district (from 1927 Bartenstein district) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad ( Koenigsberg area (Prussia) ). It is located in the Pravdinsk district ( Friedland district (Ostpr.) ) And belongs to the Domnowskoje selskoje posselenije (rural community Domnowo (Domnau) ).

Geographical location

Roschtschino is located seven kilometers southwest of Prawdinsk (Friedland) at the intersection of two secondary roads, both of the Prawdinsk– Schirokoje (Schönbruch) (former German Reichsstraße 142 ) to Domnowo (Domnau) and the A 196 (former Reichsstraße 131 ) at now lead extinct place Perewalowo (Schwönau) . Until 1945 Preußisch Wilten (Russian: Snamenskoje) was the next train station on the route from Königsberg to Angerburg , which is no longer operated today.

history

The former Gutsdorf Georgenau formed the newly established Abbarten district on June 11, 1874 with the Abbarten estate (Russian: Prudy) and the rural community Deutsch Wilten . He was in the county Friedland in the administrative district of Konigsberg the Prussian province of East Prussia .

In 1910 there were 261 people in Georgenau. On September 30, 1928, the Georgenau manor district was converted into a rural community . On May 4, 1930, the Abbarten district was renamed " Deutsch Wilten District ", now part of the Bartenstein district (Ostpr.) .

In 1945 Georgenau came to the Soviet Union as a result of the Second World War with northern East Prussia and in 1947 received the Russian name "Roschtschino". Since 2009, due to structural and administrative reform, Roschtschino has been classified as a “settlement” (Russian: possjolok) within the Domnowskoje selskoje posselenije (rural municipality Domnowo (Domnau) ) in Pravdinsk district of Kaliningrad Oblast .

church

Church building

The Georgenau church dates from the time of the order and was changed in the 19th century under Schinkel's influence . Today only the damaged tower still exists. The walls of the nave were removed and the stones were used for other buildings. The existing building remains are surrounded by almost impenetrable wilderness and are no longer accessible.

Parish

Georgenau is an old church village in which the Reformation took hold early on. Until 1684 the second pastor ("Diakonus") of Domnau (Russian: Domnowo) were pastors in Georgenau. Originally it was part of the inspection of the Königsberg preacher . Georgenau was an independent parish until 1945, even though it became a branch parish of Deutsch Wilten and from there from 1779 through the change of pastor Christian Ludwig Dörfer from Georgenau to Deutsch Wilten (where his father Daniel Ludwig Dörfer was pastor up to then ) Was cared for by pastors. The parish of Klingenberg (now in Polish: Ostre Bardo) was already connected to Deutsche Wilten through the parish. Until 1945 the parish association Deutsch Wilten-Georgenau-Klingenberg belonged to the church district Friedland (today Russian: Prawdinsk), later to the church district Bartenstein (today Polish: Bartoszyce) within the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union .

Today Roschtschino lies in the catchment area of the parish Domnowo (Domnau) , which is a branch parish of the Resurrection Church in Kaliningrad (Koenigsberg) . It is assigned to the Kaliningrad provost in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia .
