Solowjowo ( Russian Соловьёво , German Garbnicken ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad ( Koenigsberg Region (Prussia) ). It is located in the Pravdinsk district ( Friedland district (Ostpr.) ) And belongs to the Domnowskoje selskoje posselenije (rural community Domnowo (Domnau) ).
Geographical location
Solowjowo is located 15 kilometers west of the Rajons capital Prawdinsk (Friedland) on a side road that connects Domnowo (Domnau) with Aljochino (Naukritten) and Tischino (Abschwangen) on the Russian trunk road A 196 (former German Reichsstraße 131 ). Until 1945 Domnau (now Russian: Domnowo) was the next station on the railway line from Königsberg (now Russian: Kaliningrad) to Angerburg (now Polish: Węgorzewo), which is no longer in operation.
history
The Gutsdorf formerly called Garbnicken was until 1928 a district of the Groß Saalau manor district (Russian: Gontscharowo) in the Groß Saalau district of the same name . He belonged to 1927 in the district Bartenstein (Ostpr.) Renamed county Friedland in the administrative district of Konigsberg the Prussian province of East Prussia .
On November 1, 1928, the Groß Saalau manor district was incorporated into the municipality of Domnau (Russian: Domnowo) with all its districts .
In 1945 Garbnicken came to the Soviet Union with northern East Prussia and in 1950 received the name "Solowjowo". Until 2009, the place was incorporated into the Domnowski soviet (Dorfsovjet Domnowo (Domnau) ) and since then has been classified as a "settlement" (Russian: possjolok) due to a structural and administrative reform in the Domnowskoje selskoje posselenije (rural municipality Domnowo) in Pravdinsk Raion .

Due to its predominantly Protestant population, Garbnicken was parish into the parish of Domnau (Russian: Domnowo) before 1945 . It belonged to the Friedland church district (today in Russian: Prawdinsk), then to the Bartenstein church district (today in Polish: Bartoszyce) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union .
The church reference to Domnowo still applies to Solowjowo today. The parish of Domnowo is now a branch parish of the Church of the Resurrection in Kaliningrad (Königsberg) and belongs to the Kaliningrad provost in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia (ELCER).
