Tscherjomuchowo ( Russian Черёмухово , German Groß Klitten ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad ( Koenigsberg region (Prussia) ). It belongs to the Domnowskoje selskoje posselenije (rural community Domnowo (Domnau) ) in Pravdinsk district ( Friedland district (East Pr.) ).

Geographical location

Tscherjomuchowo is located about eleven kilometers southwest of the current Rajons capital and former district town Pravdinsk (Friedland) and two kilometers east of Domnowo (Domnau) on a side road that leads directly into the village. Until 1945 Domnau was the next train station on the route from Königsberg (today Russian: Kaliningrad) to Angerburg (today Polish: Węgorzewo), which is no longer in operation.

In 1874, the former manor district and the former rural community were incorporated into the newly established administrative district of Domnau Castle. He was one of the 1927 in the district Bartenstein (Ostpr.) Renamed county Friedland in the administrative district of Konigsberg the Prussian province of East Prussia . On November 17, 1893, the rural community of Groß Klitten was incorporated into the manor district of Groß Klitten, which then had 165 inhabitants in 1910.

On September 30, 1928 the manor district Groß Klitten and the manor district Woopen were merged to form the new rural community Groß Klitten. Finally, on May 4, 1930, Groß Klitten became the eponymous place for the previous administrative district of Domnau Castle. From 1931 to 1945 these included: the rural community of Groß Klitten and the rural community of Preußisch Wilten (Russian: Znamenskoje).

In 1945 northern East Prussia and with it Groß Klitten came to the Soviet Union . The place has been called "Tscherjomuchowo" since 1950 and was incorporated into the Domnowski soviet (Dorfsovjet Domnowo (Domnau) ) until 2009 . Since then, due to structural and administrative reform, Cherjomuchowo has been classified as a "settlement" (Russian: possjolok ) within the Domnowskoje selskoje posslenije (rural community Domnowo) in Pravdinsk district .

The majority of the population of Groß Klitten was of Protestant denomination before 1945 and thus parish into the parish of Domnau (Russian: Domnowo). It belonged to the church district Friedland (today Russian: Prawdinsk), then to the church district Bartenstein (today Polish: Bartoszyce) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union .

Even today there is a church connection from Tscherjomuchowo to Domnowo, whose current Evangelical Lutheran parish is a subsidiary of the Resurrection Church in Kaliningrad (Königsberg) and belongs to the Kaliningrad provost in the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia (ELCER).
