Swobodnoje ( Russian Свободное , German Alsnienen , 1934–1947 also: Wolmen West ) is a small town in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad ( Koenigsberg region (Prussia) ) and belongs to the Domnowskoje selskoje posselenije (rural community Domnowo (Domnau) ) in the Prawdinsk district Friedland (East Pr.) ).
Geographical location
Swobodnoje is four kilometers north of the Russian-Polish border and eleven kilometers south of the Rajons capital and former district town of Prawdinsk (Friedland) . The small town can be reached via the side street (former German Reichsstraße 142 ) in the Malinowka (Wolmen (center)) junction , which connects Prawdinsk with the no longer existing, in the border area Schirokoje (Schönbruch) and before 1945 to Bartenstein (today Polish: Bartoszyce) continued. The next train station before 1945 was Preußisch Wilten (now Russian: Snamenskoje) and was on the railway line from Königsberg (now Russian: Kaliningrad) to Heilsberg (now Polish: Lidzbark Warmiński), which is no longer in service.
history
The once Alsnienen called and vetch (Russian: Klimowka) associated Vorwerk joined on 2 August 1923, the ramparts small Sporwitten (1934-1947 also: Wolmen East, Russian: Vostochnoye) and Wolmen (1934-1947 also: Wolmen center Russian: Malinowka) to form the new rural municipality of Wolmen. It was incorporated into the administrative district Deutsch Wilten , which belonged to the Friedland district , from 1927 the Bartenstein district (East Pr.) In the Königsberg district of the Prussian province of East Prussia .
In 1945 Alsnienen resp. Wolmen West with northern East Prussia to the Soviet Union and in 1947 received the name "Swobodnoje". Until 2009 the place was incorporated into the Domnowski soviet (Dorfsovjet Domnowo (Domnau) ) and since then has been classified as a "settlement" (Russian: possjolok) due to a structural and administrative reform within the Domnowskoje selskoje posselenije (rural municipality Domnowo) in Pravdinsk Raion of Kaliningrad Oblast .

The almost exclusively Protestant population of Alsnien was parish before 1945 in the parish Deutsch Wilten (Russian: Jermakowo) and belonged to the Friedland church district (today Russian: Prawdinsk), later to the Bartenstein church district (today Polish: Bartoszyce) in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussians Union .
Today Swobodnoje is located in the catchment area of the parish Domnowo (Domnau) , a branch parish of the Resurrection Church in Kaliningrad (Königsberg) , which belongs to the Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia (ELCER).
