Tschaadajewo ( Russian Чаадаево , German Brolost ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad . It is located in Pravdinsk district and belongs to the Gorodskoje posselenije Schelesnodoroschnoje (township of Schelesnodoroschny).

Geographical location

Tschaadajewo is located six kilometers northeast of the former district town of Schelesnodoroschny and can be reached via the side road from Wischnjowoje (Altendorf) on the Russian highway A 196 to Oserki (Georgenfelde) and Gussewo (Groß Gnie) on the R 508 highway .

Until 2001 there was a rail connection via the station " Oserki - Wolnoje " ( Georgenfelde - Wolla (1938–1945: Ebenau )) on the Toruń – Tschernjachowsk ( Thorn - Insterburg ) line, which has been decommissioned in its Russian section.

The former Brolost estate village called belonged until 1945 to the district Gerdauen in the administrative district of Konigsberg the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1874 the place was incorporated into the administrative district of Schloss Gerdauen . In 1910 Brolost had 105 inhabitants.

On September 30, 1928, Brolost lost its independence and was incorporated into the rural community of Wolla (1938–1945 Ebenau , today in Russian: Wolnoje). In 1931 the affiliation to the administrative district also changed when, after the administrative district of Schloss Gerdauen was dissolved, the municipality of Wolla was reclassified to the administrative district of Annawalde (today Russian: Smolnoje) and another year later to the administrative district of Barraginn (1938–1945: Georgenhain).

In 1945 the place came to the Soviet Union as a result of the Second World War with northern East Prussia and was renamed in 1950 after the Russian philosopher Pyotr Jakowlewitsch Tschaadajew in "Tschaadajewo". Until 2009 it was incorporated into the Vishnevsky Soviet (Dorfsovjet Vishnevoye) within the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad , and since then - due to structural and administrative reform - it has been classified as a “settlement” (possjolok) within the Gorodskoje posselenije Schelesnodoroschnoje (township of Schelesnodoroschnoje ) in Pravdinsk Raion .
