Novosjolki ( Russian Новосёлки ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad and belongs to the Gorodskoje posselenije Schelesnodoroschnoje (township Schelesnodoroschny (Gerdauen) ). As a result of the Second World War , the formerly German town of Neuendorf which belonged to the Gerdauen district like the entire northern part of East Prussia (except for the Memelland ) became part of the RSFSR , one of the Union republics of the Soviet Union .

Geographical location

Nowosjolki is four kilometers northwest of Schelesnodoroschny on a rather impassable road that leads directly into the village via Odojewskoje ( Neuendorfshof ). Before 2001, Schelesnodoroschny was the next train station until the Toruń – Chernyachovsk ( Thorn – Insterburg ) line was abandoned in the Russian section.

history

On April 9, 1874, the place called Neuendorf at that time became Amtsdorf and gave its name to the newly formed district Neuendorf, in the district of Gerdauen , in the administrative district of Königsberg in the Prussian province of East Prussia . The three rural communities Adlig Neuendorf , Königlich Neuendorf and Neuendorf Kämmereidorf and the Rathsthal manor district (Russian: Ranneje) joined together to form this administrative association.

On October 13, 1890, the rural communities Adlig - and Königlich Neuendorf and Neuendorf Kämmereidorf merged to form the new rural community Neuendorf. In 1910 it had 421 inhabitants.

On September 30, 1928, the Rathsthal (Ranneje) estate was also incorporated into Neuendorf, so that the population rose to 556 by 1933 and was 496 in 1939. The Neuendorf district consisted only of the Neuendorf community until its end in 1945.

As a result of the Second World War , northern East Prussia - and Neuendorf with it - became part of the Soviet Union . In 1947 the place was given the Russian name "Novosjolki". Until 2009, Novosjolki was incorporated into the Wischnjowski Soviet (Dorfsowjet Wischnjowoje (Altendorf) ) within the Kaliningrad Oblast, which has been in Russia since 1991/92 , and has since been classified as a "settlement" (Russian: possjolok) due to structural and administrative reform Location within the Gorodskoje posselenije Schelesnodoroschnoje (township of Schelesnodoroschny (Gerdauen) ).

church

The predominantly Protestant population of Neuendorf before 1945 was parish in the parish Schelesnodoroschny (until 1946 Gerdauen), which belonged to the church of the same name in the church of the Old Prussian Union in the church province of East Prussia .
