history

The formerly named Charlottenburg place was like Klein Sobrost and Waldeck a district of the municipality Popowken (1938-1945 Neusobrost ) and connected with it in its history. Popowken belonged to the District Sobrost in district Gerdauen in the administrative district of Konigsberg the Prussian province of East Prussia .

In 1945 Charlottenburg came with the northern part of East Prussia to the Soviet Union and in 1950 was named "Smolnoje". Until 2009, the place within the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad was incorporated into the Krylovsky soviet (Krylowo village soviet) and since then - due to a structural and administrative reform - it has been classified as a "settlement" (possjolok) within the Gorodskoje posselenije Schelesnodoroschnoje (township of Schelesnodoroschny) in the Pravdinsk Raion .

church

Within the municipality of Popowken, Charlottenburg, with its mostly Protestant population, belonged to the parish of Assaunen, which is now in Poland , within the parish of Gerdauen in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union .

Today Smolnoye is located in the church region of Chernyakhovsk of the newly established Kaliningrad provost of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia (ELKER).
