Tscherepanowo ( Russian Черепаново , German Reichau ) is a place in the Russian Oblast Kaliningrad and belongs to the Mosyrskoje selskoje posselenije (rural community Mosyr) in Pravdinsk Rajon .

Tscherepanowo is nine kilometers southeast of the former district town of Znamensk and 24 kilometers northeast of the current Rajon capital Pravdinsk . The Russian trunk road R 508 runs through the village . The nearest train station is Znamensk on the Kaliningrad - Gusew - Nesterov railway line for onward travel to Lithuania .

history

The manor district with the then name Reichau was formed on December 21, 1908 from parts of the neighboring estate village Friederikenruh (no longer existing today) and incorporated into the administrative district Koppershagen (no longer existent). Until 1945 the place belonged to the district of Wehlau in the administrative district of Königsberg in the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1910 Reichau had 119 inhabitants.

On September 30, 1928, the Reichau manor district gave up its independence and was incorporated into the rural community of Schönrade (Russian today: Schtscherbinino) and at the same time reclassified into the district of Eiserwagen (Russian today: Bely Jar).

In 1945 Reichau came to the Soviet Union with northern East Prussia and was renamed Tscherepanowo in 1950 . Since 2009 the settlement belongs to the Mosyrskoje selskoje posselenije (rural municipality Mosyr).

Until 1945, Reichau was parish with its predominantly Protestant population in the parish of Allenburg in the church district of Wehlau and thus belonged to the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union .

Since the 1990s, Cherepanowo has been in the catchment area of ​​the Resurrection Church parish in Kaliningrad and is assigned to the Kaliningrad provost. It belongs to the Evangelical Lutheran Church of European Russia (ELKER).
