Pfäfflingen is a district of Nördlingen in the Swabian district of Donau-Ries in Bavaria . The district has 484 inhabitants (as of January 2, 2018) and is located at an altitude of 418  m above sea level. NN in the center of the Nördlinger Ries .

history

Numerous finds from the district prove a settlement of the corridors on the Mauchufer since the linear ceramic band . The place first appeared in the light of history in the 13th century. In the years 1278 and 1279 the Counts of Truhendingen gradually sold their property. In the period that followed, about half of the village belonged to the Teutonic Order , Ballei Franken , while the other half came to the monastery Zimmer with the village rulers . Only one property belonged to the Oettingian office of Sammenheim . The transition from monastery rooms to the Counts of Oettingen laid the foundation stone for the introduction of the Reformation in the town, which the German-Norse subjects also had to join. As a result of the Schmalkaldic War and the so-called Edict of Restitution in 1629, the village became Catholic again for a short time. In 1717, Prince Albrecht Ernst II sold his half of the town for 40,000 guilders to the Teutonic Order, who thus became almost the sole landlord and sovereign and remained so until it was incorporated into the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1806.

On January 1, 1976, the previously independent municipality was incorporated into the city of Nördlingen.

St. George Church

Pfäfflingen formed an old original parish with the branches Dürrenzimmern and (Unter-) Wechingen . It is possible that the neighboring monastery room belonged to the old parish of Pfäfflingen in the pre-monastery period. The parish church is dedicated to Saint George. In today's cemetery area there was a Wendelin chapel next to it, which later fell into disrepair and was demolished in the 19th century. The former subsidiary churches of Unterwartingen and Dürrenzimmern became Protestant parishes of their own in 1561 and 1571. Pfäfflingen is now part of the Löpsingen parish .
