The steam locomotives of the class P 1 II of the Pfalzbahn were, together with the P 1 I, the first passenger locomotives in the Palatinate .
In 1876 six examples of this locomotive were built for the Pfalzbahn by the Elsässische Maschinenbau-Gesellschaft Grafenstaden . The vehicles had an inner frame with a Crampton type boiler , an internal Stephenson control and an assisted fire box . Later the vehicles were supplemented by a steam dome . Five vehicles were retired in the 1920s. One copy went to the Deutsche Reichsbahn and was given the number 34 7451 , but was no longer used.
They were equipped with type 2 T 7.5 tenders .
