The Roman Catholic parish church Hausmannstätten is located in the municipality Hausmannstätten in the Austrian district of Graz-Umgebung in Styria .

It is consecrated to the Holy Trinity and is located in the Graz-Land deanery in the Graz-Seckau diocese . The building is under monument protection ( list entry ).

Location description

The church stands a little higher in the old town center of Hausmannstätten.

history

The first building dates from 1320/30 and was dedicated to St. Nicholas . In 1361 a pastor is mentioned for the first time. From 1506 the near Fernitz took over the parish seat. In 1661/65 a comprehensive baroque renovation took place. On September 26, 1695, the new church was consecrated to the Holy Trinity. In the 19th century there were interventions in the interior and the tower received its current shape. It was not until 1964 that Hausmannstätten was raised again to an independent parish.

During the renovation in 1895/96, the Gothic charnel house under the old church was exposed, but it was walled up again.

Church interior

The three-bay , baroque nave with groin vaults closes in the north with the recessed choir with a 3/8 end. The eastern side chapel (formerly Gothic choir) is juxtaposed with a baroque chapel in the west.

Furnishing

The uniform interior from the construction period in the cartilage style (1660/67) consists of the high altar with high -quality figures and a tabernacle by Veit Königer (around 1770), as well as the two side altars, the pulpit and the altar of the eastern chapel. On the west wall of the ship is a carved group of the twelve apostles with Jesus (around 1500 ), which is considered a model of the life-size group of apostles in the cathedral of Wiener Neustadt . The altarpieces are by the Nazarene Joseph Ernst Tunner (mid- 19th century ) and that of the left side altar by Felix Barazutti (1895). In 1891 the wooden gallery for the new organ by Matthäus Mauracher (jun.) II was built. In 2006 the organ was renovated and its interior was renewed.
