The Roman Catholic parish church in Lind im Drautal , consecrated to St. Bartholomew , is located in the municipality of Kleblach-Lind . The church was founded around 1139 and named as a parish in 1242.

Building description

The wall pillar church is a Gothic complex with late baroque redesigns. The one-yoke choir with three-eighths closure dates from the 14th century. The four-bay nave consists of three late Gothic bays as well as a baroque west bay and the west facade from 1788. The Gothic tower on the north side of the nave was redesigned in Baroque style. On the east side it has a romanized triforium sound window from the late Middle Ages and is crowned by an onion helmet. On the west wall of the tower a fresco depicting law and grace was uncovered in 1985/86, which is attributed to Wenzl Aicher. On the north side of the choir there is a Gothic sacristy , on the south side there is a Baroque extension. The choir, supported by simple buttresses, has five high lancet windows . The two-storey, classicist western facade is divided into three axes by four giant Ionic pilasters . The mural in the volute gable depicts the sacrifice of the old and the new covenant . Below that, in the niche, you can see Christ and the Samaritan woman. You enter the church through one of the three profiled arched portals from the late Gothic period.

In the nave, a ribbed vault with coats of arms rests on pillars with a valley and a circular template. The west yoke has a barrel vault with stitch caps . The organ gallery stands on four pillars and swings forward in the middle section. The wide pointed arch windows of the nave were renewed. A pointed, beveled triumphal arch connects the nave with the retracted choir. In the choir a ribbed vault rises on consoles. On the north side of the choir is the ogival, chamfered sacristy portal. On the south side there is a renewed basket arch portal and above it on both choir walls low oratorio windows .

Facility

The high altar with sacrificial portals , which was built around 1740, houses a statue of St. Bartolomew in the central niche and a protective cloak Madonna made around 1480 in the top niche . It was transferred here from the Maria Hilf chapel in 1969. On the side are the figures of Saints Joseph and Barbara .

The rococo side altar on the left bears a Mother of God and shows Saint Anthony of Padua in the top picture . The crucifixion group on the right side altar with Maria, Johannes, Maria Magdalena and angels was created by Johann Paterer from Tyrol in the middle of the 18th century. In the nave is the gravestone of Perchtold von Lind, marked 1349, made of red sandstone with a relief of a standing knight.

The church also features baroque console figures of a Man of Sorrows and Saint Barbara from the first half of the 18th century, an oil painting of the birth of Christ from the end of the 17th century, a canvas painting with the Last Supper and reliefs of the Cross from the 19th century.

In 2019 the parish church received a completely new organ from the Slovenian organ builder Tomaz Moznik. The instrument was consecrated on September 15, 2019 by Bishop Werner Freistetter .
