The Roman Catholic Parish Church of Patsch is in the Austrian municipality of Patsch in Tyrol . It is consecrated to St. Donatus and belongs to the Wilten-Land deanery in the Innsbruck diocese . The church with the cemetery is a listed building ( list entry ).

history

The church was first mentioned in documents in 1284. It was destroyed in a village fire in 1399. The late Gothic church and cemetery were consecrated in 1479. In the years 1767/68 the church was rebuilt and baroque . It was restored in 1974/76. The cemetery was expanded in the 20th century. The parish church of Patsch is one of the oldest parishes in the Central Inn Valley .

architecture

The Gothic baroque church building with a nave includes a three-sided choir , picturesque staircase and archway as well as arched and rectangular windows . The mighty tower is attached to the north side of the choir and there are coupled, round-arched sound windows , over which it wears a shingled pointed gable helmet . On the west facade there is the open vestibule on round pillars and a grooved pointed arch portal , which date back to the 16th century. The nave, the sacristy and the portal are also attached to the north side of the choir. The cemetery is equipped with a closed cemetery chapel and a war memorial .

Furnishing

In the single-nave interior there are baroque ceiling frescoes that were purchased by Anton Zoller and Josef Kremer and are also part of the baroque style of the church. They represent the scenes from the life of St. Donatus.
