Phela , actually Raphaela Beer (* 1989 in Falkenberg ), is a German singer-songwriter and violinist .

Life

Raphaela Beer is the daughter of the artist and musician Jeff Beer and grew up on a Fluxus farm in Falkenberg-Gumpen in the Tirschenreuth district . As a child she learned to play the violin in order to be able to accompany her sister, two years older, on the piano. She started a career as a classical violinist in her youth.

In 2007, at the age of 17, she played the violin for the first time together with her father on the piano in the Upper Palatinate Künstlerhaus (Kebbel Villa in Schwandorf-Fronberg ). With her first band Crystal Ocean Shore , she released two CDs in 2010 and 2011 on the Bavarian label Hawkhill Records , on which she sings in English. She won competitions and prizes before breaking off that career and temporarily moving to Paris . Back in Germany, she began studying music in Hanover before moving to Berlin . There she met Cecil Remmler , Marek Pompetzki and Paul Neumann , who jointly operate the Numarek Studios in the Kreuzberg district . With them Phela recorded the song Lavender . Raphaela Beer participated as a violinist on the EP Sticks & Stones (2013) by Steffen Linck, which was released in 2013. In the same year the Hanoverian Natascha Bell released her EP Unique on Artist Station Records , in which Raphaela Beer was also involved as a violinist.

In February 2015 she was on the road as support for the German singer-songwriter Max Prosa . On May 15, 2015 Phela played as support for the Alin Coen Band in Augsburg. In August 2015 Phela played as support for Andreas Bourani . On September 16, 2015, she appeared with the title Again alone in the ZDF morning magazine and on October 31, 2015 in the show Inas Nacht . Her debut album page 24 (working title Alles auf Anfang ) was released on September 18, 2015 via Sony Music Entertainment . Previously, the single was released again alone . In November 2015 she went on tour as support for Philipp Poisel .
