Photovoltaic Global 30 Index
The Photovoltaik Global 30 Index is a Deutsche Börse index and was launched on June 1, 2009. The index is weighted according to market capitalization and contains up to 30 companies. Basic requirements for inclusion in the index are a turnover of at least 50 percent in the photovoltaics sector , a daily stock exchange turnover of one million US dollars and a market capitalization of 100 million US dollars. The maximum weight per index member is generally 10 percent. The index is adjusted every three months, but the composition can also be changed in the event of special events (e.g. insolvency). The base value is September 16, 2005 with 100 points. The calculation takes place automatically every minute.
In May 2009, listed stock corporations from all countries were included in the Photovoltaik Global 30 Index with the exception of Argentina , Chile , China , India , Colombia , Saudi Arabia , Zimbabwe and Venezuela .
development
In the retrospective calculation, the price index would have had its highest value to date on December 27, 2007 at 206.19 points. An all-time low was reached on November 20, 2012 at 10.58.
Over the years, in some cases fewer companies met the criteria of the Deutsche Börse regulations. Although smaller companies could have been included according to the German guidelines, the English guidelines do not provide for any further deviations from the rules laid down. Accordingly, a market capitalization of $ 100 million is not required, but an average daily trading volume of $ 1 million is a guideline. In December 2013 only 12 companies were represented.
