The Piaggio P.150 was a trainer aircraft produced by the Italian manufacturer Piaggio .

History and construction

The Piaggio P.150 was designed in response to a request from the Italian Air Force for a new training aircraft to replace the North American T-6 as the standard training aircraft . It competed with the Fiat G.49 , which was later selected, and the Macchi MB.323 . The P.150 was an all-metal low wing aircraft with a retractable tail wheel landing gear and a conventional tail unit. Teachers and students sat behind one another under a two-part cockpit hood. The aircraft was powered by a Pratt & Whitney Wasp star engine and later by an Alvis Leonides engine. Since the P.150 was not selected, it did not go into series production.
