The Piaggio P.136 was an amphibious aircraft made by the Italian manufacturer Piaggio .
History and construction
The Piaggio P.136 is a twin-engine amphibious flying boat with an all-metal hull, pusher propellers, gull-wing doors and retractable landing gear. The wings are set high. The motors that drive the pusher propellers are located on them. The side support floats are attached under the wings. The prototype first flew on August 29, 1948, and completed the approval tests in the spring of 1949. The Italian Air Force deployed 14 P.136s for coastal patrols and air-sea rescue. The aircraft was marketed in the United States by Kearney and Trecker as the Royal Gull . Trecker received three aircraft and parts for 29 more, they also built some under license.

- P.136L - variant with Lycoming GO-435 engine, two built and one P.136F converted.
- P.136L – 1 - variant with Avco Lycoming GO-480-B with 201 kW each, 18 built.
- P.136L – 2 - variant powered by Avco Lycoming GSO-480two with 254 kW each, 24 built from parts supplied in the USA.
- Royal Gull - Marketing name of the P.136 – L1 and P.136 – L2 in the USA
