The Piaggio P.10 was a reconnaissance aircraft made by the Italian manufacturer Piaggio .

History and construction

Radial engine Piaggio Jupiter Type VI

The P.10 was a single- handled , braced biplane floatplane that was equipped with a main float under the fuselage and two auxiliary floats under the wings. The machine was developed to be able to operate from Italian battleships and cruisers with the help of an airplane catapult . The aircraft was powered by a 328 kW Bristol Jupiter VI star engine built under license . It had three open cockpits, one in front of the wings for the pilot, the other two for the gunner and the observer were behind the wings. A variant with a fixed chassis was called P.10bis .
