Picada Café ( Kaffeeschneis ), officially Portuguese Município de Picada Café , is a city in the state of Rio Grande do Sul in southern Brazil . The population was estimated on July 1, 2019 at 5742 inhabitants, who are called Cafeenser ( cafeenses ) and live on a community area of ​​around 85.1 km². It is located about 80 km north of the capital Porto Alegre . In the municipality is Riograndenser Hunsrückisch spoken. It is part of the Rota Romântica ( Romantic Road ) tourist route .

Neighboring are the places Nova Petrópolis , Santa Maria do Herval , Morro Reuter , Presidente Lucena and Linha Nova . Picada Café was originally part of the municipalities of Ivoti , Nova Petrópolis and Santa Maria do Herval.
