Pierre Humphrey

Pierre Humphrey (born January 1986 ) is a German pop singer . He was briefly known to a wide audience by winning the casting show Teenstar , which was broadcast between April and June 2002 in the evening program of the private television station RTL II .

Life

Humphrey was born the son of an American and a German and grew up near Mainz . Between 1997 and 2002 he attended the Peter Cornelius Conservatory in Mainz and was trained in classical singing. There he was allowed to play the leading role in the world premiere of "The Secret of Black Poison" on the occasion of the Gutenberg anniversary in Mainz in 2000 at the age of 14. He landed a first smaller success in 2001 when he was at one of Holiday Park ausgelobten karaoke competition won out over 4,500 participants and won the first prize.

In the following year he applied for the casting show Teenstar and after several qualifying rounds, during which the participants received professional dance and singing training, he advanced against the 7,500 applicants in the final. The then 16-year-old emerged as the winner with 34% of the votes cast by telephone. As a profit he received a recording contract with Polydor .

After the sampler Teen Academy Vol. 1, recorded together with the other participants, made it into the German album charts, Humphrey was also successful with his debut single. The song Sunshine rose to number 12 in the German single charts. But already the follow-up single fell far short of this mark and the album Live It Right , released in December 2002, failed to make it into the charts. However, during this time he appeared in television shows such as The Dome and in the opening act of the No Angels' Four Seasons Tour .

In the following years, after completing his training as a state-recognized actor and musical performer at the Stage & Musical School Frankfurt from 2003 to 2005 with top marks , Humphrey concentrated on a career as an actor, dancer and musical performer. In 2003 he was seen in a production of the Rocky Horror Picture Show at the Staatstheater Darmstadt , in 2004 he played the leading role Bernard in the play Boeing Boeing on the Studio Bühne Frankfurt , in between he worked as a choreographer for several dance projects and was from spring 2007 he can be seen in the leading role of Confirmation Fritz at the Volkstheater Frankfurt . He then worked in the comedy Frankfurt at My Fair Lady, among others as Jeremy and in 2008 in the musical König Drosselbart and the play Rumpelstiltskin by the Hanauer Brothers Grimm Fairy Tale Festival . Also in 2009 he played there in the musical Sleeping Beauty and the play The Blue Light , then the hippie dwarf in "Snow White", the Hessian guard in "The Dancing Shoes" and the wicked stepsister in "Swanhwita".

As a dancer he appeared in the video for Sabrina Setlur's single Lauta and for the former Bro'Sis member Indira in the video for the single Oh and danced in the 2009/2010 season at the Wiesbaden State Theater in the musical Kiss Me, Kate , “Sweet Charity "And" Evita "in the extra ballet. In addition, he played leading roles at the Volkstheater in Frankfurt am Main and in the two-person play False in the Mainz Kammerspiele . He is also the front singer of the cover bands Fasttrain and Black and Blue , with whom he regularly appeared in the Rhine-Main area, but have since disbanded.

On June 27, 2008 he released a new single on Sony BMG . Under the project name Star Trooper , he sang the song One in a million , which has already been interpreted by Bosson . This was followed by the single Angelia , a cover by Richard Marx. Humphrey was also involved in the composition of advertising trailers for ZDF, as well as being the songwriter for the track Shining star (Gypsy Circus) on the album Moonrise by Loona and also a songwriter for various chillout compositions and also lent his voice to them. In 2011 he took part in the blind auditions of The Voice of Germany .

Humphrey has also been a member of the ensemble of the regionally successful “Zeitgeist” revue at the Mainzer Kammerspiele since 2009 and still plays in several revues and Christmas pieces. From 2012 to 2014 he played the main role “Maik” in “Tschick” based on Wolfgang Herrndorf's bestseller.

Since 2014 Humphrey has also played in the theater of the Frankfurt travesty star Bäppi la Belle u. a. "Jacob" in " La Cage Aux Folles ". From 2015 Humphrey will be on stage in the Mainzer Kammerspiele in “The 100 year old who climbed out of the window and disappeared” based on the bestseller by Jonas Jonasson .
