Pietro Meloni
Pietro Meloni (born August 31, 1935 in Sassari ) is the former bishop of Nuoro .
Life
Pietro Meloni was ordained a priest on June 28, 1968 . Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Tempio-Ampurias on June 9, 1983 .
The Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops , Cardinal Sebastiano Baggio , ordained him episcopal on September 10th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Salvatore Isgró , Archbishop of Sassari , and Paolo Carta , Senior Archbishop of Sassari.
On April 16, 1992 he was appointed Bishop of Nuoro. On April 21, 2011, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
