Piskaborn is an incorporated district of Mansfeld and is located in the Mansfeld region in Saxony-Anhalt . The place with about 300 inhabitants is in the valley of the Wipper .
history
The place Piskaborn, a Wendish street village , should King Otto III. in 992 to his aunt Mathilde von Quedlinburg on the occasion of the founding of a monastery and placed under the fiefdom of the Archdiocese of Magdeburg. From 1420 the village of Besekenborn came to the Mansfeld counts.
On July 1, 1950, the previously independent municipality of Wimmelrode was incorporated.
The village church of St. Nicolaus, built in the neo-Gothic style from bricks , is the dominant building of the place. There is a football club in the village and country festivals are held annually by the country club affiliated with this football club.
On January 1, 2005, Piskaborn was incorporated into the city of Mansfeld.
