The Piz Scalottas ( 2323  m ) is a mountain on Lenzerheide in the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland. It lies on the border of the communities Scharans and Vaz / Obervaz .

Development

The Piz Scalottas was the focus of the Swiss Ski Championships in the 1980s. Since 1995, women's ski world cup runs and Super-G have been held on the FIS course on a regular basis . The particularly steep start on Piz Scalottas and the topographically demanding route demanded a lot from the ski racers. The international ski association announced in 2001 that the route no longer met the requirements of a modern World Cup route, which led to the construction of the Silvano Beltrametti route from Rothorn to Parpan .

The mountain is easily accessible from several sides by hiking trails ( grade T2 ). From Lenzerheide / Val Sporz a 3-seater chairlift of the Lenzerheide Bergbahnen also leads to the intermediate station Tgantieni ( 1750  m ) with the restaurants Bergrestaurant Acla Grischuna and Hotel / Restaurant Tgantieni. From there, another chairlift takes you to the Piz Scalottas mountain inn with a panoramic view of Lenzerheide, Oberhalbstein , Heinzenberg , Domleschg and parts of the Surselva in 8 minutes .

Due to the topographically ideal location, there is a mobile radio transmission system ( GSM ) with a very low total output on Piz Scalottas .
